April Newsletter - R Park Tavern (4/6), Liberty Tavern (4/27), and much, much more
Sedated Friends and Fans,
     A very busy month ahead as Slightly Sedated does a "double Delco" at The R Park Tavern on Sat. Apr. 6 and at The Liberty Tavern in Woodlyn on Sat. Apr. 27.  But that's not all folks, as these shows bookend Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra's "Cinderella" (dates below) and precede the Rose Tree Pops Spring Concert on Sun. Apr. 28.  We sure hope to see some of you at these upcoming shows and we're looking forward to that.
Here are the details.

• Sat. Apr. 6 (7:00-10:00) - Full Band at The R Park Tavern - Ridley Park, PA (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100076206070900)
  One of Delco's hidden treasures, the R Park Tavern is a friendly and cozy neighborhood tavern with a delicious and varied pub grub menu that the locals rave about.  The "R Park" is easy to get to, located on Sellers Ave., just minutes from I-95 (Stewart Ave. exit).  The "R Park" stands for Ridley Park of course, and we're hoping many of our Delco friends can make it out to enjoy the R Park hospitality, conviviality, food and drink, and our music.  We have revived our original song "Delco Barbie" in honor of the 2023 hit movie and it's Oscar nomination and dish out lots of Tom Petty material as we morph into Delco's premiere Tom Petty tribute band.
  
• Fri.-Sat. Apr. 12-13, Wed. Apr. 17 and Fri.-Sat. Apr 19-12 - Rose Valley Chorus & Orchestra "Cinderella" at Strath Haven Middle School, Wallingford, PA (https://www.rvco.org/)
  Please check out the RVCO website for showtime details (matinees & evening times) but this is community theater at it's finest, and this performance of the 1957 Cinderella (a Rodgers and Hammerstein musical) is 1950's Broadway at it's best.  Originally starring Julie Andrews, the RVCO's production of Cinderella will surely take you back in time and you'll truly be entertained by their stellar (as always) cast and a 30 pc. orchestra. Bring your kids or grandkids to either of the Saturday matinees and they will be welcomed on stage for photo ops with the cast members .... a momento for sure.  Tickets can be purchased online (no fees) on the RVCO website.
  
• Sat. Apr. 27 (7:00-11:00) - Full Band at The Liberty Tavern - Woodlyn PA (https://www.facebook.com/p/Liberty-Tavern-Woodlyn-100090260588896/)
  The Liberty Tavern is the evolution of Liberty Steaks and Hoagies into a great Delco-vibe bar, as they have done some great re-modeling of the facility while retaining their acclaimed cheese steaks, philly steak and hoagie menu, with attentive staff, a full fledged beer menu, a fully stocked bar, and with a regular live music schedule.  It doesn't get any better than that!!  "Delco Barbie" of course, more new Tom Petty.  Lots of St. James Bulldogs alumni were with us last time and we hope to see all of our Delco friends.
  
• Sun. Apr. 28 (3:00pm) - The Rose Tree Pops Orchestra at Delaware County Christian School. Newtown Square, PA (https://www.rosetreepops.org/)
  With the Philly Pops on financial hiatus, how about coming out for a little culture with the Rose Tree Pops Orchestra preforming the "Merry Wives of Windsor", a Bach "Fugue in C Major", Strauss "Radetzky March", a Youth Soloist Competition Winner performing Mozart's "Clarinet Concerto in A Major", Duke Ellington's "C Jam Blues" (Rose Tree Pops Big Band), John Williams "Harry Potter Medley", Gershwin's "Someone to Watch Over Me", and "An American Frontier"
