Sat. Apr. 16 - Live at
Scrimmages, Wilmington/Concord Pike
Hello Sports Fans of Slightly Sedated,
April brings us to a new venue just across the Mason-Dixon
line, and as spring has almost sprung, we hope you'll travel South (on 202) to
see us play at Scrimmages on Sat. night April 16 (from
9:00-1:00). Scrimmages is right next to the Concord Mall (www.eatatscrimmages.com)
and it's a fun place to dine, watch sports (Flyers, Sixers may both be in
playoffs) and enjoy our show. Check out their menu and you'll see they have a
diverse, eclectic (like us), and mouth-watering assortment of dishes featuring
Southwest, New Orleans, and Caribbean cuisines. Listen to these menu items:
Appetizers: Armadillo Eggs, Voodoo Shrimp, Crispy Cajun Calamari, Texas Twisters
Entrees: Chicken Mamou, Santa Fe Burrito, Shrimp & Chicken Creole
You really should check out their menu (I'm going early to sample) as I've only
scratched the surface of listing some of the exotic choices. Scrimmages is easy
to get to, easy to like, a fun place with great food, and we're looking forward
to bringing our frivolity there for a Slightly Sedated show.
As for our show, we're always adding new twists, and we
should have some new Citizen Cope, Dick Dale, The Who and Zappa tunes ready for
this gig (told you we were eclectic) as well as some of our own original music.
Oh, and while we're on that topic we would like to remind you that you can
purchase our songs on-line now through our website (www.slightlysedated.net/music.htm)
which is connected to www.earbuzz.com as
well as iTunes, Amazon, Napster, Rhapsody (and others). We do have a bone
to pick with ya'll, as we've been talking up the ability for you to purchase
songs or whole CDs, and your response has not been overwhelming (you trying to
tell us something...lol?). We do have to pay to make these available to
you, and would appreciate your support (go ahead, just buy one song) and
spreading the word to your friends.
As we try to go viral (with your help) we've also made our
initial foray into the world of YouTube, with a (admittedly amateur but somewhat
risque') video of our song "Delco Barbie". Feel free to check it out at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1QG-ppl8MA. These YouTube videos are
absolutely free, we hope you enjoy them, and please give us your feedback (maybe
we'll start a blog soon) as we get ready to "video-ize" some more of our
original songs. We are working on "The Slightly Irish Drinking Song" and
hope to have it on YouTube soon.
Soooo, we hope you've enjoyed the latest newsletter and hope you
can make it out to Scrimmages on Saturday night April 16
to help us celebrate the advent of spring, root for some local teams, sample the
food, and enjoy our music. We may even orchestrate a scrum at Scrimmages. How
about it, a shirts vs. skins scrimmage between the genders (oh baby).
Go Flyers, Go Phils, Go Sixers!!
As they say in the Men's Warehouse commercial......
You'll like the way we sound, We Guarantee It!
