Hello Friends and Parrot Heads,
Summer's here and it sure feels like it, so it's time for
Slightly Sedated to head "Back to the Beach", and we'll be at A
Taste of Key West in Ridley Park next Saturday night,
June 11. We'll go absolutely islandy and tropical on you, by
bringing out our best beach music combining some Jimmy Buffet, some Jack
Johnson, some reggae (hey mon) with even a little surf guitar mixed in for good
measure. We'll also add in our usual collection of danceable rock and blues, and
it will be the closest thing to being in the real Key West this side of the
Mason-Dixon line (and we believe it's the "southernmost point" in Ridley Park as
well...lol).
For those who haven't been to "A Taste of Key West" it's a
very cool place so let me give you some of the details. It's situated on the
water adjoining the Ridley Park Marina, so you can get there by car or boat.
We'll play on an outdoor stage surrounded by a sandy beach that overlooks the
boat slips. You can dine (great food and a wonderful menu) indoors (with AC), on
the deck (overlooking the marina) or on the sand by the band (under tents or in
the open). The hours are early (7:00-11:00), so many of our boomer friends can
spend a few hours, and it's also kid-friendly with the sandy play area. As we
said, they have a great menu that's themed around the the cuisine and culture of
Key West, with items and entrees named for many of the bars and restaurant's
there (my fave is the Green Parrot Crab Imperial Stuffed Portabella entree), so
please consider this as a dining/concert/dancing destination, and do check out
their menu at

website, but it's just moments (and 2 turns) from the I-95 exit, just north of
the Blue Route (401 South Swarthmore Ave. Ridley Park, PA).
Yes summer's here and "Life's a Beach", so put on your
shades, your sandals or flip-flops, a little sunscreen, and come on out to
"A Taste of Key West" on Sat. June 11 for Slightly
Sedated's summer-fest show.
