March Newsletter - Kennett Italian Club (3/10) and Monaghan's Irish Pub (3/18)
Sedated Friends and Fans,
It's March and you know what that means.
March Madness of course, but more importantly St. Patrick's Day, which
conjures thoughts of shamrocks, bagpipes, green beer and pub
crawls. With that in mind, we've dusted off our yearly repertoire
of Irish songs and added a few new ones as the full band plays at the Italian American Citizens League in Kennett Square (Fri. Mar. 10, 8:00-11:00) and our "Unplugged Duo" plays at Monaghan's Irish Pub in Essington (Sat. Mar. 18, 8:00-11:00).
Of course you may think it odd that we'll be playing some Irish tunes
at the Italian Club, but believe everyone celebrates the St. Pat's
spirit, and may mix in our Dean Martin punk medley (That's
Amore/Everybody Loves Somebody) to tip our hats to Italia.
Mark those calendars, hope to see
you, and here are the details:
- Fri. Mar. 10 (8:00-11:00) - Full Band at The Italian American Citizens League (https://www.iaclkennett.com/IACL/)
The
Italian American Club of Kennett Square preserves and honors the
culture, traditions, and heritage of the Italian Community and we're
honored to be able to bring our show to Kennett and share in the
"grande festa". Their events (when we play) are open to the public and
you'll love the atmosphere (they have completely renovated their
interior) and the extra long shuffleboard table they have. We're
inviting all our local southern Chesco friends to join us for a
chianti, a Peroni, a tarantella and a "molto buon tempo".
Grazie! Directions are available at https://www.iaclkennett.com/IACL/
- Sat. Mar.18 (8:00-11:00) - "Slightly Unplugged" Duo at Monaghan's Irish Pub, Essington, PA (https://www.monaghanspub.com/)
Monaghan's is the coziest Irish Pub in Delco with the biggest and most delicious pub grub menu you'll ever experience. With Wings, Sliders, Steaks, Hoagies, Flatbreads and a long list of appetizers, and they
also feature a number of local craft brews on tap from Troegs, Victory
Brewing, Golden Road, 2SP and Guinness (of course). We'll be
playing Danny Boy, Dropkick Murphies, Galway Girl, the Irish Rover and our very own Slightly Irish Drinking Song, so you better be wearing the green. Full Menu and
directions are available at https://www.monaghanspub.com/.
As "We're All Slightly Irish" on St. Patrick's Day, we hope you come
out to enjoy one (or more) of these shows.
Slightly and Sincerely,
Slightly Sedated (John, Steve, Mark, Lynn) and Slightly Unplugged (John, Steve)
