Slightly Sedated Friends,
Summer is now officially over and hope yours was nice,
relaxing and fun. The frost is not yet on the pumpkin, but as we all get back to
school and work, Slightly Sedated resumes it's more regular pace of shows, and
we have a couple good ones lined up for you, hoping you can get out with friends
and family for the festive frivolity of one of our shows, so here's what's up in
October:
Sat. Oct. 1 (6:00-10:00) at the
Longwood Family Restaurant, Kennett Square, PA (www.longwoodfamilyrestaurant.com
)
A new venue for us, here's a chance for all of our Chester
County friends to get out for a nice dinner and an early evening
on the covered deck at The Longwood Family Restaurant. Just
south of Longwood Gardens on Rt. 1 (and formerly known as
Hugo's), the Longwood is a great place to bring the family for a
great meal and our music. Of course being in Kennett Square (the
"Mushroom capitol of the WORLD"), they feature a number of
mushroom enhanced soups, appetizers and entrees, and it's a
wonderfully relaxing atmosphere. Starting at 6:00, we'll feature
a bit of our jazzier and some acoustic "dinner" music selections
(don't worry, we won't be wearing white dinner jackets), and
we'll pick up the pace later in the evening as folks dance off a
few calories from their wonderful meals. It's also
convenient to Longwood Gardens, so you might make a combo
pilgrimage to check out the foliage, the plumage and the
mushroomage, but either way, we hope to see you there.
Sat. Oct. 8 (9:00-1:00) at the
Sundance Saloon, Aston, PA
Our much anticipated return to The Sundance Saloon is a chance
to let our hair down (yes we all still have some), and show off
our truly eclectic power trio style. This is a chance for us to
let loose and do all of our growing list of Frank Zappa songs,
and Delco Punk (we're working up a medley of Dean Martin hits
done punk-style), and it's also a chance for all of our Aston
and Tri-State area friends to frolic and get wild. We're hoping
to feature a few local guest musicians on stage with us (you
could be surprised). The Sundance is a great place for us
to all let loose.... pool table, game room, great drinks, nice
stage, party crowd .... what else could you ask for, so we hope
you can make it to downtown Aston (mein Vaterland) for
a great night at the Sundance Saloon.
Yes ... there's two chances to catch Slightly Sedated this
month, so mark your calendars, tell your friends, count your silverware, and
come on out to see Slightly Sedated at the Longwood Family
Restaurant or The Sundance Saloon. We
guarantee a great time, so don't miss it.
