September Newsletter - R Park (9/6), Market at Liberty Place (9/18), Ridley Park Victorian Fair (9/27)
Music Lovers,
     Hope you all had a nice summer!  As September hits, the Aston Brass Band and Slightly Sedated are back in action and we do hope to see you at one (or more) of these events.

• Sat. Sept. 6 - (7:30-10:30) - "Aston Brass Band" at The R Park Tavern, Ridley Park, PA (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100075941375325)
  "And now for something completely different", the Aston Brass Band returns to the R Park Tavern.  Built on New Orleans style brass bands, we cover the Rebirth Brass Band, the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, and many others, as well as brass-jazz-funk, swing, Dixieland and 2nd line gospel.
  New material we'll be rolling out includes:
  - Our first original - "Just Sayin'" (funky street brass)
  - 2 from the Lucky Chops band - "Buyo" and "Danza 2016" (Randy B. channels Leo Pellegrino)
  - Rockin' Blues cover of Lil Ed and the Imperials "Bad All by Myself"
  - Soulful Blues "Directly from My Heart to You" - the Frank Zappa version
  Please join us as we continue our quest to become the DelVal's hottest NOLA brass band (maybe the only one).
       One of Delco's hidden treasures, the R Park Tavern is a friendly and cozy neighborhood tavern with a delicious and varied pub grub menu that the locals rave about.  The "R Park" is easy to get to, located on Sellers Ave., just minutes from I-95 (Stewart Ave. exit).  "R Park" stands for Ridley Park of course, and we're hoping many of our Delco friends can make it out to enjoy the R Park hospitality, conviviality, food and drink, and our music.
  
• Fri. Sept. 18 - (6:00-10:00) - "Slightly Sedated" at The Market at Liberty Place, Kennett Square, PA (http://themarketatlibertyplace.com/)
  As Slightly Sedated's resident regular home in Kennett Square, The Market at Liberty Place is a 10,000 square foot space (a mini-Reading Terminal), that's home to an exciting mix of merchants selling freshly prepared foods, produce, and other retail goods. It is also designed to serve as a gathering place for members of the Kennett Square community.  Perfect for dining in, getting a fresh meal to go, or picking up your own organic ingredients, it's a convenient place to gather together with family and friends.  With so much to do and see, The Market at Liberty Place a perfect destination for a great night out with Slightly Sedated.  Please check out their vendor list at http://themarketatlibertyplace.com/.
  
• Sun. Sept. 27 - (11:00am-1:00pm) - The "Aston Brass Band" at Ridley Park Victorian Fair, East Lake Park (https://www.facebook.com/events/east-lake-park-ridley-park-pa-19078/ridley-parks-victorian-fair/1922276565092462/)
  Hosted by the Ridley Park Recreation Board, the Victorian Fair is a great family event.  Held at East Lake Park (along Constitution Ave. by Lakeview Elementary), the fair is open from 10:00am to 3:00pm and includes:
  🍻Beer Garden – An autumnal twist on Pints in the Park, located outside of the Pump House.
  🍦 Food Trucks – Come hungry! We will be joined by Savannah's Southern Cuisine, Cool Cravings, Tower Pizza, Federal Donuts, Kona Ice, and more!
  🧶 Market Vendors – Shop from more than 40 unique local artisans, businesses, and non-profits
  🎤 Live Entertainment – Come see our headlines Aston Brass Band and James Clark, as well as a variety of other theatrical performers
  🚣‍♀️ Pedal Boat Rides – Enjoy Ridley Park from the water!
  🐴 Family Fun – Petting zoo and face painting artists to delight children of all ages
  ⛪︎ Local History Museum – A special exhibit curated by the Ridley Park Historical Society featuring the churches of Ridley Park
  🍰 The Great Ridley Park Cake Off – Hosted by the Ridley Park Public Library.
  Admission is free, and all are welcome. Come out and celebrate 40 years of community-building in Ridley Park!
